How "Suggested for you" picks a section

One nudge, never a pile

Most sections of Verinode start dormant and switch on only when you decide they are relevant, the anti-overwhelm posture covered in switching sections on. "Suggested for you" is the gentle layer on top: from time to time, IQ marks one dormant section as worth turning on next. The suggested section gets a small copper dot in the sidebar, and opening it shows the usual switch-on screen with a Suggested for you line above the heading and the reason underneath.

The rule that governs it is restraint, applied twice.

First, focus beats breadth. As long as any section you already have switched on still has nothing filled in, no first step done, nothing IQ knows there yet, the platform suggests nothing at all. A brand-new operator standing in front of Margin with its first step untouched does not need a second section pitched at them; they need the one in front of them to pay off. Only once every active section has at least its first step done does a suggestion appear.

Second, one at a time. There is never more than one pending suggestion. While one section sits suggested, no other section will be promoted, however long you take. You will never open the sidebar to a wall of copper dots.

The order is deliberate

When the platform does promote a section, it does not pick at random and it does not go alphabetically. Every section carries a rank based on how fast and how reliably its first step pays off, and the best-ranked dormant section wins. Margin holds the top rank, the thirty-second revenue-band reveal is the surest quick win on the platform, though since Margin is switched on by default for new accounts, it rarely needs suggesting. In practice the first suggestion you see is usually one of the sections whose opening step is cheap and immediately real: Certifications (add one license and its expiry date, and renewal reminders are on), then Vendors and Clients with their instant lookups, then Subcontractors and Team. The sections that need documents before they can show you anything, and the ones fed from elsewhere, sit further down the list, reached once you are already getting value.

The reason is on the suggestion

A suggestion never arrives bare. On the switch-on screen, under the Suggested for you eyebrow and the section's name, IQ states its reason: the same one-line description of what the section actually does for you, in plain terms, "Verinode keeps an eye on every license, certification, and insurance policy you carry, and warns you before any of them lapse." You are being told what you would get, not just that an algorithm picked something. And the screen's footer holds the standing promise: "Data will appear here as it flows in. Nothing is switched on until you say so."

Making room for the next

A suggestion is an offer, not a task, and it resolves the way you would expect:

• Switch it on, one click on the switch-on screen, and the section becomes active, with its first-visit intro and setup task taking over from there. The suggestion slot is now free, but the focus rule immediately applies to your newly active section: the next suggestion holds until this one has its first step done. Work the new section for one step and the platform is ready to point at the next.
• Leave it be, and it simply waits. The dot stays quiet in the sidebar, nothing escalates, and critically, nothing else piles on behind it. The platform holds the single pending suggestion rather than replacing or stacking it.

The effect is a pace you control. Move quickly, activate a section, close its first step, and suggestions keep up with you, one at a time in payoff order. Move slowly and the platform matches you, holding one quiet offer instead of drumming its fingers.
