What the Team by Franchisee row shows
Team by Franchisee is the plain roster at the bottom of the Workforce page: every franchisee with people on record, ranked by team size, largest first. Where the rows above it (Understaffed, Safety Risk, Bench Depth, Team Reviews) are risk filters that only show a franchisee when something is wrong, this row shows every franchisee with an active team, flagged or not. It is the census, not the alarm list.
Each tile carries three facts about one franchisee: active headcount, average tenure, and the date of its most recent hire. That is deliberately narrow. Team by Franchisee does not break headcount down by role, does not show incidents or reviews, and does not rank franchisees against a target. Those are the jobs of the rows above it. This row answers one question only: across the network, who has how many people, how long have they generally been there, and when did each franchisee last add someone.
Where to find it
Open Workforce from the HQ sidebar, under the Network group (hq.verinode.ai/team). The page is labeled Workforce rather than Team: franchisee staff report to the franchisee, not to HQ, and every row on the page, this one included, reads aggregate counts a franchisee's own account already rolled up, never a franchisee's internal personnel file.
The page opens on a hero panel (network headcount plus average tenure, open incidents, and OSHA-recordable events, covered in Network headcount hero), then a stack of horizontally scrolling rows in order: Understaffed, Safety Risk, Bench Depth, Team Reviews, Work Style, and finally Team by Franchisee at the bottom. It is the last row on the page, the plain listing you land on after the four risk-and-cadence rows above it.
Anatomy of a tile
Each tile represents one franchisee. Reading a tile:
- Label pill, top-left: active headcount, for example "11 active." This is that franchisee's current count of active team members, the same figure used across every other Workforce row.
- Headline: the franchisee's name.
- Sub line: average tenure among that franchisee's active team, in years, for example "3.2yr avg tenure." Where a franchisee has active team members but no hire-date history to compute tenure from, the sub line reads "Tenure pending" instead of a number.
- Meta line: the date of the franchisee's most recent hire on file, for example "Last hire 2026-03-14." This line is left blank, not omitted from the tile, when no hire date is on record for that franchisee.
- Accent color: copper, the network-neutral brand accent used across HQ for reference information. Every risk row on this page carries a signal color (Ember Red for Safety Risk, Hard Hat Yellow for Understaffed and Bench Depth) because those rows are flags. Team by Franchisee is copper because it isn't flagging anything, it's a directory.
Note
The "Last hire" date on this row is shown exactly as recorded, not translated into a relative phrase like "3 months ago." That is different from the Team Reviews row above it, which does show relative time ("42d ago," "8mo ago," "never"). If you want a relative read on how recently a franchisee hired, do the arithmetic against today's date yourself, or cross-reference the franchisee's own Team page inside its IQ account.
What "average tenure" means here
The tenure figure on each tile is specific to that franchisee: the average number of years its own active team members have been on staff, computed from that franchisee's own hire-date records. It is not the same number as the "Avg tenure" secondary stat on the hero panel at the top of the page. The hero's figure is a single network-wide average, weighted by each franchisee's active headcount, so a ten-person franchisee's tenure pulls harder on that number than a two-person franchisee's does. The per-tile figure here is that one franchisee's own average, unweighted against anyone else in the network.
A franchisee reads "Tenure pending" rather than a number when it has active team members on record but hasn't logged the hire dates Verinode needs to compute an average. This is common for a franchisee that just registered its team and hasn't backfilled historical start dates yet. It is not an error state and does not mean the franchisee has no tenure to speak of, it means Verinode cannot calculate one yet.
Ordering and how many show
Franchisees are ranked by team size, largest active team first, and only franchisees with at least one team member on record appear at all. The row shows up to twelve franchisees. In a network larger than twelve active teams, the smaller franchisees at the tail of the ranking are not visible in this row, they scroll off rather than paginate; to see the full network directory, use the Franchisees page directly rather than scrolling further here.
Clicking a tile
Click any tile in this row and Verinode opens that franchisee's record in the Franchisees section, scrolled directly to that franchisee. This is the same tile-to-franchisee navigation used by every other row on the Workforce page: a Team by Franchisee tile is a shortcut into the one franchisee it names, not a standalone report.
Inside that franchisee's record, the Team section shows the same category of aggregate data this row is built from, expanded: active headcount (against target headcount, if the franchisee has set one), FTE and contractor counts, technician, leadership, and admin/office counts, average tenure, last hire date, open incidents, and OSHA-recordable events over the trailing 36 months. It does not show a list of named employees, compensation, schedules, or contact information. The privacy boundary holds through the click-through exactly as it holds on the row itself: more categories of aggregate data, never a personnel file.
Empty state
When no franchisee in the network has any active team members on record, the row reads:
"Team data will appear as franchisees register their members."
This mirrors the network-wide framing on the hero panel above it ("Team data will appear as franchisees register their team members"), just scoped to this row. An empty row means Verinode has not yet received a single team record from any franchisee in the network, not that the network has no people. As franchisees add their team inside their own IQ account, franchisees begin appearing here the next time the network rollup refreshes.
How to use it
Treat this row as the quick census, not the investigation. It is the fastest way to answer "who has the biggest team," "who just hired," or "which franchisees still show Tenure pending because they haven't backfilled hire history," without opening a single franchisee record. Scan it before or after working the risk rows above it: a franchisee showing an old "Last hire" date next to a small team is worth a glance at Understaffed and Bench Depth to see whether that quiet hiring pace is also showing up as a headcount gap or a thin bench.
- 1Scan top to bottom for team size, the row is already sorted largest first, so the network's biggest employers are the first tiles you see.
- 2Check the "Last hire" meta line for franchisees that look stale, no recent hire alongside a small or shrinking team is a pattern worth a conversation, even if that franchisee hasn't tripped Understaffed or Bench Depth.
- 3Click through to a franchisee's Team section when you need the fuller aggregate picture (role mix, incidents, reviews) behind the three numbers on the tile.
- 4Use the Franchisees page directly, rather than scrolling this row, once your network has grown past the twelve franchisees this row displays.
