What this page is for
Your profile is the record of you as a person, not your company. It holds your name, your photo, your contact details, your job title, and whether you belong to an industry association. It is separate from your company record (name, size, revenue range, branding) and separate from sign-in and security (password, two-factor authentication), which each live on their own settings page. If you're a member of more than one operator account, this same profile, photo included, follows you into each one, because it describes you, not any single business.
Two other things live on the same physical page but are documented separately: your Verinode inbox, the personal forwarding address for getting vendor documents into Verinode (see forwarding your documents), and email notification timing, which has its own settings page (see notification preferences). This article covers everything above those: name, photo, contact details, job title, and industry affiliations.
Where to find it
Open Settings from the sidebar. In the Account group, click Profile. The row's value shows your email address once you have one on file, or "Add your details" if you don't. Direct route: /settings/profile.
The page opens with a "‹ Settings" link back to the Settings index, then flows straight down in flat groups with thin dividing lines and no card frames: your identity row (photo and name), Your Details, and Industry Affiliations. If Verinode can't load your profile at all, the page reads: "Could not load your profile. Try reloading."
Your name and photo
At the top of the page is your identity row: your avatar on the left, your name and email beside it, and a Change Photo button on the right.
- No photo uploaded. The avatar shows your initials, first letter of your first name plus first letter of your last name, in a copper circle. If Verinode has no name for you at all yet, it shows a plain "?" instead.
- No name set. The line under the avatar reads "Add Your Name" instead of a name.
- No email set. The line under that reads "No Email Set".
Click Change Photo to open your device's file picker.
- 1Pick a JPG or PNG file, 5 MB or under. Anything else is rejected before it uploads: "Please upload a JPG or PNG file." for the wrong file type, or "Image must be under 5 MB." for an oversized one.
- 2While the upload runs, the button reads "Uploading…" and disables itself so a second click can't fire mid-upload.
- 3Verinode uploads the file, then reads it back to confirm the bytes actually landed before telling you it worked. If that check fails, you'll see an error rather than a false "saved."
- 4On success, your new photo replaces the avatar immediately, no page reload, and a confirmation reads "Profile photo updated."
Note
Your photo replaces any photo you uploaded before, in whatever format it was. Uploading a new JPG after an old PNG (or the reverse) fully retires the old file, so a stale image can't keep showing up somewhere else in the app.
Your Details
Below the identity row is the Your Details form, five fields:
- First Name. Required. This drives your display name (shown in the identity row, the navigation bar, and anywhere you're attributed) and the initials on your avatar.
- Last Name. Optional. Leave it blank and your display name falls back to your first name alone.
- Email, with the helper text "Used for notifications and account recovery." This is the address your weekly digest and alerts go to, and the one used to recover access to your account if you're ever locked out. It's independent of your Verinode inbox address, which is for forwarding documents in, not for receiving mail.
- Phone, optional, placeholder example "(555) 123-4567".
- Job Title, optional free text, placeholder example "e.g. Operations Manager".
Edit any field and click Save Changes. The button shows a loading state while it saves. When it finishes, you'll see "Account details saved." below the form, or a plain-text error if something went wrong, most commonly a connectivity issue on Verinode's end rather than anything you did wrong with the form itself. The change takes effect immediately, no reload: your updated name shows in the navigation bar and in any conversation with your AI Co-COO right away.
Industry Affiliations
This section holds a single toggle: "I am a member of the Restoration Industry Association (RIA)." Its description: "Self-declared. RIA confirms your membership against its roster before your RIA badge and RIA network benchmarks turn on. We never share your business data with RIA."
Turn it on and an optional RIA Member Number field appears, helper text "Optional, but it speeds up verification.", placeholder "e.g. 100482", with its own Save button beside it. This is a declaration, not proof: Verinode never hands your business data to RIA as part of this process. RIA only sees that a claim was made, then confirms or rejects it against its own membership roster.
Depending on where your claim stands, a status line appears under the field:
- Pending. "Pending verification by RIA. Your RIA badge and RIA network benchmarks activate once RIA confirms your membership."
- Verified and active. "Verified RIA member. Your RIA badge and RIA network benchmarks are active."
- Verified but on hold. "Your RIA membership is on hold. RIA shows your dues as not current, so the badge and RIA benchmarks are paused until renewal."
- Could not match. "RIA could not match your membership. Check your member number below, or reach out to RIA."
Turn the toggle off and your claim withdraws, clearing the saved member number.
Note
The RIA badge and RIA-specific benchmark cohort only activate once you're verified and active. Until then, your everyday benchmarks keep working exactly as before, this toggle only ever adds an association-scoped view on top; see how benchmarks work for what powers the comparisons you already see.
Best-practice example
Fill in your first name, last name, and a real email the day you sign in, before anything else. Your display name and avatar initials start working immediately, and your recovery email is set before you'd ever need it. Add a photo when convenient, it isn't required for anything to function, it just makes you recognizable across the app and to anyone else on your team who sees your name attributed to a decision or a document. If you belong to RIA, declare it once and add your member number, verification runs on RIA's side and the badge appears on its own once confirmed. There's nothing to check back on: Verinode surfaces the status change the next time you open this page.
