What this is
Every facility on your footprint, an office, a warehouse, an equipment yard, a truck hub, a storage unit, a branch, or a mixed-use space, has its own profile: a per-facility detail card that opens when you click that facility anywhere in the Facilities section. This article covers the top of that card, the hero band and the Overview section beneath it, plus how the profile itself gets onto your screen: it isn't a separate page, it's the back face of the Facilities card slider.
The Overview section holds the facts you set when you added the facility (or corrected since): what it's called, what kind of location it is, who owns it, where it sits, and how it's used. Lease terms, compliance events, consumables, and recurring costs each live in their own section next to Overview; this article only covers Overview and the surrounding profile chrome.
Where to find it
Open Facilities from the sidebar at /facilities. From the Facilities home, click into any of the five tiles (Footprint, Leases, Compliance, Consumables, Costs) to open the card slider, then click any row:
- In Footprint, click a facility's row directly.
- In Leases, Compliance, Consumables, or Costs, click a row and Verinode drills into the facility that row belongs to, not the lease, event, item, or cost record itself.
Either path lands you on the same profile, opened on its Overview section by default.
- 1Open Facilities from the sidebar (
/facilities). - 2Click a tile to open the card slider, or use the URL's
?tab=state if you're returning to a specific tab. - 3Click any row. The row's data hands off directly into that facility's profile, in place, on the same card, no separate page load, no modal stacked on top of the slider.
- 4You land on Overview. A pill bar across the top lets you switch to Lease, Compliance, Consumables, or Costs for the same facility.
- 5To back out, use the breadcrumb in the top-left corner of the drilled card (it reads the tab you drilled in from, for example "‹ Footprint") to return to the list, or the X in the top-right to close the slider entirely and return to the Facilities home.
The hero
The top of the profile is a gradient band, color-keyed to the facility's type so a warehouse, a yard, and an office each read differently at a glance even before you look at any text:
- Eyebrow: "Facility · " followed by the type, for example "Facility · Warehouse." If the facility's type is Other, this shows the custom label you typed in at setup instead of the word "Other."
- Title: the facility's name, exactly as entered.
- Subtitle: a single line combining street address, city, and state or region with a middle dot separator (for example "4210 Distribution Way · Tampa · FL"). If none of those three fields are filled in, the subtitle is omitted.
- Accent color: drawn from the facility type's gradient (a warm, copper-leaning palette rather than a neon one, one pair of colors per type: Office, Warehouse, Equipment Yard, Truck Hub, Storage Unit, Branch, Mixed-use, Other). When you drilled in from a tile that already carried a color, the hero picks up that same color, so the drill-in reads as a continuation of the card you clicked rather than a new screen.
Below the title, a row of three stats carries over the facts you'd otherwise have to open Overview to see:
- Sqft: the facility's square footage with thousands separators (for example "12,500"), or a dash if none has been entered.
- Ownership: Owned, Leased, Rented, or Subleased.
- Status: Active, Inactive, Under Renovation, Exiting, or Exited. Every new facility starts Active; the last three reflect a facility moving through the exit (decommissioning) workflow.
The Overview section
Overview is organized into three groups of fields, laid out two per row.
Identification
- Facility type: one of Office, Warehouse, Equipment Yard, Truck Hub, Storage Unit, Branch, Mixed-use, or a custom label if the type is Other.
- Ownership: Owned, Leased, Rented, or Subleased.
- Status: Active, Inactive, Under Renovation, Exiting, or Exited.
- Square footage: shown with a "sqft" suffix (for example "12,500 sqft"), or a dash if it hasn't been entered.
Address
- Street, City, State / Region, and Postal code, each shown as entered or as a dash if blank. (Country isn't shown in this section: it's captured behind the scenes at intake, defaulting to the United States if you didn't specify one, but it isn't part of the Overview display.)
Use & notes
- Primary use: the free-text description of what actually happens at this location day to day (for example "Office + admin, drying chamber storage + truck staging"), most useful for a mixed-use space where the Type field alone doesn't say enough. Multi-line text is preserved exactly as typed. Shows a dash if never filled in.
- Notes: a general free-text field for anything else worth keeping on the facility's record. Also preserves line breaks, also shows a dash if empty.
Every field in Overview traces back to what you (or whoever added the facility) typed in, either at creation via + Add Facility or afterward. See Adding a facility for exactly what's required at setup versus what can be filled in later.
Note
In the current build, Overview is a read-only summary of the facility record: it renders exactly what's stored, the way the rest of this article describes. It doesn't have its own Edit control the way Lease, Compliance, Consumables, and Costs each do, every one of those four opens its own add-or-edit form directly from its section. If you spot a typo in a facility's name, type, ownership, address, or notes after adding it, that correction path isn't wired into this card yet. Treat Identification, Address, and Use & notes as best set correctly at add time, and double-check them before saving the facility.
The other four sections, in brief
Overview sits beside four sibling sections in the same profile, each covered in its own article:
- Lease: term dates, notice deadline, monthly rent, escalation, and landlord contact, see Leases: rent, terms, and renewal deadlines and Lease intelligence.
- Compliance: inspections, certificates, and postings on a recurring calendar, see Compliance: inspections, COIs, and postings on a calendar.
- Consumables: on-hand supplies and reorder thresholds.
- Costs: recurring utilities, insurance, and other monthly line items, rolled up against the facility's lease rent into an all-in monthly figure.
Unlike Overview, all four of those sections do have live add-and-edit forms, reachable with an "+ Add" button in each section and an Edit link on every row already on file.
