Who do you work for?

The Clients section's first-visit intro opens its start step with that question, and the panel under it reads "Name a carrier you take work from. IQ shows its rating, size, and which TPAs run its programs. Nothing to upload."

Type a carrier's name and tap Look up, or tap one of the common names offered as one-tap chips: State Farm, Allstate, Travelers, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Farmers. The reveal loads in a second or two, and you can run as many lookups as you like.

What the reveal shows

For a carrier in the catalog, you get the profile an operator usually assembles from years of anecdotes, laid out in one pass:

  • The name and a short description of who they are and how they operate.
  • Its rating. The carrier's AM Best rating, the financial-strength grade the insurance world runs on.
  • Its size. Claims volume, market share, and how many states it is active in.
  • Its lines. The lines of business it writes, so you can see at a glance whether the carrier is a homeowners shop, a commercial player, or both.
  • Which TPAs run its programs. The closing line names them plainly: "Its programs run through Contractor Connection, Alacrity," and so on. For program work this is the fact that matters most, because the TPA between you and the carrier shapes your scorecards, your cycle expectations, and your paperwork far more than the logo on the policy does.

All of it comes from the Verinode carrier catalog, research on the carriers themselves, which is why it works before you have a single scorecard of your own on file, and why it involves no peer data and no waiting. If a name is not in the catalog yet, the reveal says exactly that, "IQ does not have [the name] in the catalog yet. Try the full name, or another carrier," rather than inventing a profile.

Note

The lookup is a reveal, not a record. Browsing carriers in the intro does not by itself put anything on your book; the section starts knowing your actual carrier relationships from the documents that prove them, starting with your first carrier scorecard. That is deliberate: what IQ knows about your business should come from your business.

The climb: from the catalog to your own program read

The catalog answers "who is this carrier?" The section's real value is answering "how am I doing with them?", and that is what the climb unlocks. The steps wait in the Get IQ Up To Speed row on the Clients home:

  • Show IQ a carrier you work with. Your first carrier scorecard on file lights the carrier intelligence capability for your own book: the carriers you actually work for, with the catalog intel attached to each.
  • Show IQ your TPA scorecards. Forward a TPA scorecard, the PDFs from Contractor Connection or Alacrity, and IQ turns it into your own program read: where you rank in each program, and what it takes to hold or move up a tier. This is the step that changes the section from an encyclopedia into a mirror, your standing, in the programs that feed your pipeline, tracked from the scorecards you already receive.

Scorecards arrive the same way everything else does: drop them on the page, forward them to your IQ inbox, or let them flow in from a connected mailbox. Each one you add extends the history behind your program read.

Beyond your own steps sits the network layer: how your days to pay and approval rates compare to operators like you. That appears as more operators contribute, it is never a task, and it is not about anything missing from your data. The benchmark side of carriers and TPAs is covered in carrier and TPA benchmarks.

You can replay the reveal anytime by adding ?showIntro=1 to the Clients page address.

Tip

Run the lookup on the carrier that sends you the most work, and read the TPA line first. If your biggest carrier's programs run through a TPA whose scorecards are sitting unread in your inbox, forwarding this month's is the single fastest way to turn this section on: one PDF, and your program standing starts tracking itself.
