What this panel is

The survey detail panel is what opens when you click a row inside the Active or Closed cards on the Surveys tab of Forms. It is one modal with two tabs, Setup and Results. Setup is the roster view: who was invited, who has replied, and the controls for resending, adding people mid-flight, pausing a recurring series, closing, or deleting. Results is the answer view: the per-question breakdown, an AI-generated read on the pattern once there are enough replies, and, for full surveys, a per-person switcher so you can see one teammate's answers instead of the group's.

Verinode does not decide who counts as a non-responder worth chasing or what a low rating means for the relationship. It totals the invites, times the replies, and surfaces the pattern; whether to resend, escalate, or drop the vendor is always your call.

Where to find it

Open the sidebar and click Forms (listed under My Data; the route is /forms). On the Surveys tab, open the Active or Closed card and click any row. The detail panel opens as a modal over the list, sized wide so both tabs have room to breathe.

The header strip

Across the top of the modal, under the survey's title, sits a row of badges:

  • A colored type pill: Vendor, Tool, Process, Supply, Carrier, TPA, or one of the internal team types (Tool Stack, Team, Team Pulse, Work Style), matching the type shown in the Active/Closed list row.
  • An amber Lightning badge, only on one-question surveys.
  • A status pill: active (green), closed (gray), or draft (amber).
  • The subject name, right-aligned, when the survey has one (the vendor, tool, or person the survey is about).

The stats strip

Below the header, on any survey that has actually been sent (drafts skip this strip entirely), three numbers sit side by side:

  • Sent to: how many people were invited.
  • Responded: how many of them have replied.
  • Response rate: Responded divided by Sent to, as a whole-number percentage.

These are the same three numbers you saw in the Active/Closed row before you clicked in; the detail panel just repeats them at a larger size so they stay visible while you work the roster underneath.

The Setup tab

This is where you manage who is on the survey and see the questions it's asking.

Participation bar

Right under the stats strip (again, only once the survey has been sent and has at least one invitee), a labeled progress bar reads Participation on the left and Responded/Sent to on the right (for example, "6/10 responded"), with a percentage caption underneath ("60% response rate"). This is the same ratio as the stats strip above it, just drawn as a bar instead of a number, so you can eyeball progress at a glance.

No-responses nudge

If the survey is active, has at least one invitee, has zero responses so far, and it has been more than 24 hours since it was sent, an amber callout appears:

No responses yet, it's been over 24 hours. Consider resending to your team.

with a Resend to all N button beneath it (N is the invite count). Click it and every outstanding invite gets a fresh email; the callout then turns green and reads "Resent to all N invitees." This nudge only fires on that specific combination of conditions, it will not appear on a survey that's still under 24 hours old, one that already has replies, or one that's closed or still a draft.

Questions

A numbered list of every question on the survey, in the order respondents see them. Each row shows the question's label and, underneath it, its answer format:

  • Rating 1-5 for rating questions.
  • The actual option labels joined with a middle dot (for example, "Yes · No") for binary questions, defaulting to Yes/No when the template didn't set custom options.
  • Open text for free-response questions.

Recurrence control

This block only appears on the parent record of a recurring series (weekly, every two weeks, monthly, quarterly, every six months, or annually), not on a one-shot survey or on an individual fired instance. It shows the cadence label (for example, "Quarterly") plus one of two states:

  • Recurring: "next fires" followed by a date, in a copper-tinted panel, with a Pause button.
  • Paused: in a plain gray panel, with a Resume button.

The explanatory line underneath changes with the state: while active it reads "We'll send the same survey to the original cohort on this cadence. Pause to stop without losing history." While paused it reads "Resume to put the series back on schedule. Next fire is recomputed from today, not catch-up." That second line matters: if you pause a quarterly series for six months and then resume it, Verinode does not fire the three backed-up sends you missed, it recomputes the next date fresh from the day you resumed.

Adding invitees mid-flight

A dashed-border panel labeled "Need to add someone?" sits below the questions (and the recurrence control, when there is one), with the line "Send this survey to teammates who joined after it went out." Click + Add invitees to expand a picker pulling from your current team roster.

The picker only offers teammates who both have an email on file and are not already on this survey's invite list, so re-adding someone already invited is simply not an option, you cannot double-invite by accident. Each candidate shows their name, role, and email; check the ones you want and click Add N to send them a fresh invite email right away (if the survey is already active) or queue them to go out whenever you send the draft.

If everyone on your team with an email is already invited, the picker shows this instead, verbatim:

"Everyone with an email on your team is already invited. Add new teammates from /team and they'll show up here."

After a successful add, a confirmation line reads "Invite sent to 1 new teammate." or "Invites sent to N new teammates." and the picker collapses.

The invitee list

Below the add-invitees panel, every invitee on the survey appears as a row: name (or email, if no name is on file), email, and phone number when one exists. Two small delivery-method markers can appear next to the name: SMS for text-only delivery, E+SMS for both email and text. Rating-question responses also surface here directly: when someone has answered, their reply rating shows as N/5 next to their status.

On the right side of each row, one of three things shows, depending on state:

  • Responded, in green, once they've submitted an answer.
  • Resent, in copper, right after you've clicked resend on this row during the current session.
  • A Resend button, for anyone who hasn't replied yet and hasn't just been resent. Click it to fire a fresh invite email to that one person; it reads "Sending…" while in flight.

Tip

Use the row-level Resend button when you only need to nudge one or two stragglers. Use the "Resend to all" nudge (or Add invitees, if the survey is still open) when the whole batch has gone quiet. Both are non-destructive, they never touch answers that are already in, and re-clicking Resend on someone who has already responded isn't offered as an option in the first place.

The Results tab

Before anyone has replied

With zero responses, the tab shows only a centered empty state, verbatim:

No responses yet Results will appear here once team members start responding.

Once responses are in

A summary line at the top reads "Responses received" on the left and, on the right, "X of Y, Z%" (X responded, Y invited, Z the response rate). This mirrors the stats strip above the tabs, restated at the top of the results view.

AI Analysis. On full (non-Lightning) surveys with two or more responses, a copper-tinted card labeled AI Analysis appears next. While it's generating, it reads "Analyzing responses…"; once done, it shows a short written summary (typically 3 to 4 sentences) covering team sentiment, any outliers or consensus, and one concrete takeaway. This card doesn't appear at all on Lightning surveys or on full surveys with only one response, there isn't enough signal yet for a summary to say anything meaningful. The summary is cached for an hour, so reopening the same survey right after generating one won't burn a fresh AI call; it regenerates automatically once that hour is up.

Lightning surveys show a flat, per-person list instead of a question breakdown, since there's only one question. Each row shows the person's name, their delivery method if it wasn't plain email, how long it took them to respond ("Responded in 4h," for example), and their rating in large type, colored red at 2 or below and green at 4 or above. People who haven't replied yet appear underneath, dimmed, marked Awaiting. A Team Responses header up top shows the running average across everyone who has answered. Below the per-person list, a Rating Distribution panel restates the same data as five horizontal bars, one per star rating 5 down to 1, each with a raw response count next to it.

Full surveys show a person-selector: a row of pills starting with All (N) (N being how many have responded), followed by one pill per respondent's first name. Click All to see the aggregate breakdown across every question; click a person's name to see that individual's answers instead.

In the aggregate view, each question shows its own result block:

  • Rating questions: the average score in large type out of 5, with five distribution bars underneath (one per star, 5 down to 1) each showing a raw count.
  • Binary questions: one tile per option, each showing the percentage of respondents who chose it and the raw response count underneath (for example, "6 responses").
  • Open-text questions: every text answer, quoted individually.

In the individual view, a rating question shows just that person's number out of 5, and, when it differs from the group average by at least half a point, a colored note next to it reading "+0.6 vs group avg" or "-1.2 vs group avg" (green for above, red for below). Anything smaller than that is shown without the comparison note, it isn't a meaningful deviation. Non-rating questions in the individual view just show that person's raw answer.

Whichever view you're in, anyone who hasn't responded yet is listed at the bottom under Awaiting Response, by name or email, so you always know who's still outstanding without leaving the tab.

Closing, deleting, and exporting

The modal's footer holds the send date and the record-level actions:

  • Sent [date], in the corner, once the survey has gone out.
  • Export CSV, once there's at least one response. This builds the file entirely in your browser: one row per person who has responded, with columns for name, email, phone, delivery method, sent date, responded date, reply rating, and then one column per question in the survey's own order. Text containing commas, quotes, or line breaks is safely quoted so it doesn't break the file. The download is named survey-<first 8 characters of the survey ID>-<today's date>.csv.
  • Export PDF, only once the survey is closed and has at least one response. This renders a branded PDF instead of a raw table: a single respondent's full answers if there's exactly one response, or an aggregate summary across everyone (averages on rating questions, percentage splits on binary questions) if there's more than one.
  • Close survey, only while the survey is active. This stops new responses from being solicited and moves the record into the Closed tab in the surveys list, its full response history intact.
  • Delete, always available. This removes the survey and its invite roster permanently; there's no separate confirmation step inside the panel itself, so treat it as final.

Heads up

Deleting a survey removes its invites and any responses collected on it. If you just want to stop collecting but keep what came in, use Close survey instead, closed surveys still export to CSV or PDF and stay searchable in the Closed tab.
