What this page is

Referrals is where you invite other operators into Verinode and where Verinode pays you back for it. Every Member gets one permanent referral link. When a peer signs up through it, both of you earn Intelligence Units (IU), the currency IQ spends on your behalf when it drafts arguments, runs comparisons, and does the other AI work behind Take Action. Invite enough peers into the network and the benchmarks you both read get sharper too: how benchmarks work depends on enough operators contributing data, and every business that joins adds another anonymized data point to the pool everyone reads against. See Benchmarks overview for what that comparison layer looks like once it's built from enough peers.

This page also holds the Share Kit, a separate sub-page that turns your referral link into a ready-to-post LinkedIn update, with its own reward for posts that actually go live.

Nothing here changes what Verinode surfaces about your own numbers. Referrals is purely a growth-and-reward feature: you decide whether, when, and how to invite anyone. Verinode never reaches out to your contacts on your behalf.

Where to find it

Open Settings from the sidebar, then Referrals, under the Membership group alongside Membership & Billing and Status (/settings/referrals). The row reads "Invite peers, earn IU" underneath the title. The Share Kit lives one level in, at /settings/referrals/share, reached from the "Open the share kit" button on the Referrals page itself.

If your referral link hasn't been provisioned yet (a brief window right after your account is created), the page shows this instead of the usual content:

Your referral link will appear here once your member identity has been provisioned. Refresh in a moment.

That resolves on its own within moments. There's nothing to configure.

The give and get: what a referral pays

The top of the page is a two-sided reward panel, one side in IQ Teal for what your peer gets, one side in Copper for what you get. Both sides pay out from the same event: a peer signing up through your link and, later, becoming a paying Member.

Your peer gets, the day they sign up:

  • +200 IU, credited immediately.
  • 15% off their first year if they become a Member within 30 days of signing up.
  • A head start: IQ working their numbers from day one, the same onboarding every operator gets, just arriving with your recommendation attached.

You get, in two payments:

  • 200 IU the moment they sign up (matching what they receive).
  • 1,000 IU when they convert to a paying Member.
  • That's 1,200 IU total per successful referral, worth roughly $480 of platform usage at the standard pay-as-you-go rate.
  • Plus Advocacy points toward your next Member status. Referring peers is one of the ways your status track advances; see Settings > Status for where you currently stand.

Both halves of the reward only fire on real events the platform can verify: an account being created, and that account converting to paid. There's no reward for someone merely clicking your link. That's a deliberate design choice, covered below.

Note

The 15% first-year discount and the 30-day conversion window apply to your invitee, not to you. If they sign up but don't become a Member inside that window, they keep their account and their signup IU, but the discount lapses and your 1,000 IU conversion reward doesn't trigger unless they convert later on the standard terms.

Your permanent share link and code:

Your Referral Link: Permanent and reusable. Text it, email it, or drop it in a post.

The link itself sits in a monospace field (something like https://app.verinode.ai/sign-up?ref=yourcode), with a Copy link button beside it. Click it and the button reads Copied for a couple of seconds as confirmation. Underneath, your raw code is shown on its own line: "Your code: yourcode."

The code is a short, lowercase, alphanumeric string generated once, the first time you ever load a page that needs it, and it never changes. It's deliberately built to avoid characters that get confused with each other when read off a screenshot or a printed card. Anyone who lands on Verinode's sign-up page carrying that code in the URL gets attributed to you at signup, even if they don't complete registration until later.

There's exactly one referral link per Member. It's reusable: send the same link to as many peers as you want, there's no limit on how many referrals you can earn from.

Your invitations

Below the link sits your invitation ledger, one row per peer who has signed up through your link:

Your Invitations

Each row shows the peer's display name (or "New Member" if a name hasn't been set yet), a line underneath stating what happened and when, and a status pill on the right:

  • Joined (copper pill): they've signed up but haven't become a paying Member yet. If they're still inside the conversion window, the pill also shows the days left, for example "Joined · 12d left." The subtitle line reads "Joined \<date\>."
  • Member (green pill): they've converted to a paying Member, which is what triggers your 1,000 IU reward. The subtitle line reads "Became a Member on \<date\>."
  • Expired (gray outline pill): the conversion window closed before they became a Member. They keep their account; you don't earn the 1,000 IU conversion reward for that referral. The subtitle line is blank in this state.

Empty state. If no one has signed up through your link yet, the list is replaced with:

No one has joined through your link yet. Share it with a peer who'd benefit from operator-side intelligence.

Note

This list only shows people who actually created an account. Someone clicking your link and browsing the sign-up page without registering doesn't create a row, Verinode doesn't track link clicks as a separate pending state. If a peer says they clicked your link, the only way to confirm the referral landed is for them to finish creating their account.

Share it in style: the two artifacts

Under the invitations list (and again, larger, on the Share Kit sub-page) are two live previews of what you'd actually be posting, rather than a plain description of the feature:

Your operator card. A square, photo-and-quote poster built from your own profile: your photo, your company's logo, your name, and a quote. The preview on this page shows it with a placeholder line ("We run on our own numbers now.") so it never renders blank. Clicking Create your card opens the card composer, where you add a real photo (if you haven't already set one on your profile) and write your own quote, then download it or share it. If you haven't added a photo yet, the caption underneath reads "Add a photo and a quote, and it builds itself"; once you have one, it reads "This is how yours looks with the sample quote: swap in your own."

Your LinkedIn post. A miniature mockup of the actual LinkedIn post the Share Kit produces: your initials in a copper-to-burgundy avatar, your name, your role and company underneath, a caption with hashtags picked out in LinkedIn's blue, and one of Verinode's motive images. Underneath it: "A ready-to-post share: pick a motive, make the words yours, post in one tap. Earn 100 IU per verified post for up to 5 posts." Clicking Open the share kit (or the preview itself) takes you to the full Share Kit page.

The Share Kit page (/settings/referrals/share)

This is where you actually build and send the LinkedIn post. The page opens with:

Tell your network you joined Pick a motive, make the words yours, and post in one tap.

The two reward tiles

Right under the header, two tiles restate the numbers in context:

  • Per verified post: +100 IU, "up to 5 posts, credited when each goes live."
  • Per peer who joins: +1,000 IU, "about $400 of platform usage, each conversion." (This is the same conversion reward described above; it's repeated here because the Share Kit is one of the channels you'd use to generate referrals.)

Below the tiles, a progress line tracks your share reward specifically: "X of 5 rewarded posts" on the left, "Y IU earned" plus either "· Z left" or "· all earned" on the right, with five small segments underneath that fill in IQ Teal as each post is credited. This counter only moves when a post is verified as published, described below, not when you open the composer or copy text.

Writing and choosing the post

The left column is the editor:

  • Your post, a plain textarea pre-filled with a caption draft and hashtags, fully editable. A "↻ Try a different opening" link cycles through Verinode's other caption drafts if you want a different starting point, restarting your edits.
  • Choose your image, a horizontally scrolling strip of Verinode's motive images with left/right arrow buttons to scroll it. Click any thumbnail to select it; the selected one gets a copper border. Whichever motive is selected appears in the live preview and gets attached when you post or download.

Posting: connected vs. manual

This is the part worth understanding precisely, because only one of these two paths earns the reward.

If your LinkedIn account is connected, the primary button reads "Post to LinkedIn · earn 100 IU." Clicking it publishes your caption and chosen motive directly to your LinkedIn feed through LinkedIn's own posting API, with your referral link included in the post so anyone who clicks through lands on a signup that's credited to you. Once LinkedIn confirms the post is live, the reward is credited automatically and the message updates to "Posted to LinkedIn. +100 IU added." (If you've already reached the 5-post cap, it still posts, but reads "Posted to LinkedIn." without the reward line.) A Disconnect LinkedIn link sits below if you want to revoke the connection.

If LinkedIn isn't connected, the same button instead reads "Connect LinkedIn to post & earn" and starts the OAuth connection flow. Underneath, a "Share manually instead" link is always available: it copies the full post text to your clipboard, downloads the selected motive image to your device, and opens LinkedIn's own composer in a new tab so you can paste the text and attach the image yourself.

Heads up

Sharing manually does not earn the 100 IU reward. Verinode can only confirm a post genuinely went live when it publishes the post itself through the connected LinkedIn path and gets back a confirmation from LinkedIn. A manual copy-and-paste post is real and appreciated, it just isn't something Verinode can verify happened, so it can't be the trigger for a reward that's meant to be earned, not clicked. If you'd rather post by hand, that's completely fine, you just won't see the IU land for that specific post.

Two secondary buttons sit next to the primary one either way: Copy post (copies the full caption plus your link; reads "Post copied" briefly after) and Download motive (downloads the selected image as a JPG).

Each distinct post you publish through the connected path earns until you hit the 5-post cap; the reward is tied to that specific published post, so it won't double-count if the same content happens to get re-synced.

The live preview

The right-hand column mirrors exactly what you'd see in your own LinkedIn feed: your avatar and name, your role and company underneath, "Now" as the timestamp, your caption with hashtags in LinkedIn blue, the selected motive image, and a row of LinkedIn's own action labels (Like, Comment, Repost, Send) for realism. It updates live as you edit the caption or switch images, so there are no surprises between what you see here and what actually posts.

A recap section at the bottom restates the full mechanic in one paragraph (the same 200 / 1,000 / 15% / 30-day / 100-per-post numbers covered above), followed by your referral link and code again with their own Copy link button, in case you came to this page to grab the link rather than to post.

If you have at least one referral on record, a summary line closes the page: "X peer(s) have joined through you," with "· Y now Member(s)" appended when at least one has converted.

Best-practice example

Say you've just closed your first month on Verinode and want to bring in two peers you trust. Open Settings > Referrals, copy your link, and text it directly to both, that's the fastest signup path and it's still worth the full 200 IU signup reward and 1,000 IU conversion reward per person if they join. Separately, open the Share Kit, connect LinkedIn once, pick the motive that matches your trade, and post: that's a wider net that also earns its own 100 IU per verified post, on top of whatever signups the post itself generates. Check back on the Invitations list a few days later; anyone showing "Joined" with days counting down is worth a nudge before their conversion window and discount lapse.
