The Industry News tab is the restoration industry feed inside Benchmarks. It pulls together what is happening across the trade (reporting, interviews, product releases, events, and Verinode's own research) so you do not have to watch a dozen sources yourself. Open Benchmarks and select Industry News from the tabs at the top.
What the feed shows
Items land as a dense grid of cover tiles. Each tile is one story, and the feed mixes six kinds of content:
- Article for written industry reporting.
- Video for recorded segments and interviews.
- Podcast for audio episodes.
- Press Release for vendor and company announcements, including product launches.
- Webinar for online events and sessions.
- Franchise Update for network and HQ posts.
Every tile shows a small glyph in the top corner marking its kind, the title, the source name, and how long ago it published. Video, podcast, and webinar tiles also carry a duration pill so you know the runtime before you open them. Source names are always shown in their proper, readable form, never as a raw feed identifier.
Two kinds of tile stand out:
- Verinode items carry a copper border and a Verinode pill in the corner. These are Verinode Research pieces surfaced in the feed.
- Breaking items are time-sensitive stories, pinned to the front so you see them first.
Everything in the feed is sourced from outside reporting or from Verinode Research. External news is held to a freshness window, so you will not see stories from years ago; Verinode's own research stays available until it is retired. As an independent data trust, Verinode curates this feed for operators, and operator data is never part of what flows into it.
The "Relevant to Me" filter
Above the grid sits a row of filter chips, each with a count:
- All shows the whole feed.
- Relevant to Me shows only stories about the vendors and tools you actually use. It appears once Verinode knows your stack, and it is built from your active vendor relationships and the equipment on file for your business. If a story is about one of those, it lands in this filter.
- Verinode narrows the feed to Verinode Research items only.
The active chip is highlighted in copper. If Verinode does not yet know your stack, the "Relevant to Me" chip is hidden; adding your vendors and equipment brings it back.
Opening a story
- 1Tap any tile to open the deep-dive over the page.
- 2The header shows the kind, the source, and the publication date. Verinode pieces show the Verinode pill here too.
- 3For a video or podcast, the player is embedded inline so you can watch or listen without leaving.
- 4For an article, the summary and, where available, the full body render right in the panel.
- 5Any tags on the story appear at the foot, in readable form.
- 6Use the arrows or swipe to move to the next story without closing the panel.
At the bottom of the deep-dive you will find the right action for that kind of story:
- A Verinode piece tied to a full report shows Read the full research, members only, which jumps you to the Analyst Reports tab and opens the matching report. Non-members hit the membership gate there; see Membership tiers explained.
- An external story shows a link back to its source, worded to fit: "Open in [source]" for an article, "Read the press release," "Open webinar page," or "Open on HQ portal."
When the feed is empty
Before any items have published to your environment, the tab shows one message: "No items in the feed yet, Verinode research, industry articles, podcasts, vendor releases, and franchise updates land here as they publish." Nothing here is something you post or manage; stories appear on their own as they come in.
If a filter is on and its count is zero, switch back to All to see the full feed.
