What CEC & Education is

CEC & Education is the mobile HQ view of your association's continuing-education program: how many credits your members have earned in the current cycle, how many active courses are in your catalog, and which members are falling behind on their CEC requirement. It is an association-native surface: it only appears for a network configured as an association, not for a franchise or multi-location enterprise network, because continuing-education requirements are an association program, not something a franchise or corporate-owned network runs.

This is a read surface, not an authoring one. Nothing on this page lets you award credits, edit a member's record, or publish a course from your phone. It is where you check standing at a glance; the program itself, adding courses, logging completions, updating the roster, is administered elsewhere. Checking standing is not all HQ mobile can do, though: the HQ mobile home carries an Apps row that runs HQ's full analyst apps from your phone.

Where to find it

On mobile HQ, open the Sections menu from the tab bar and look under the Association group header for CEC & Education, alongside Member Directory, Dues & Renewal, and Events. Its hint line under the label reads "Credits, courses, members behind on CEC." Tapping it opens the page at the mobile equivalent of hq.verinode.ai/education.

The same feature is available on the web HQ dashboard, at hq.verinode.ai/education, under the sidebar's Association group, also labeled CEC & Education. Both surfaces read the same underlying rollup for your association's group, computed fresh on every page load rather than served from a stored snapshot, so the numbers you see on your phone and the numbers a colleague sees on the web dashboard reflect the same current-cycle state each time either of you opens the page.

Note

CEC & Education is capability-gated to association-type networks. If your HQ account is configured as a franchise or a multi-location enterprise, this section, and the rest of the Association group, Member Directory, Dues & Renewal, Events, simply does not appear in your Sections menu. There is no empty or disabled placeholder; the surface is only ever shown to networks that run a member continuing-education program.

The hero row: four stats, swipeable

At the top of the page, under a small "Education" row heading, sit four hero tiles you swipe through horizontally, each one a distinct number about your association's current CEC cycle:

  1. CEC Credits: the total number of continuing-education credits your members have earned so far this cycle. The caption under the number reads "Awarded this cycle (2026)" (the year is the current calendar year, since the CEC cycle tracks the calendar year). Below that, a support line reads "N of M earning" where N is how many roster members have earned at least one credit and M is your total roster size, or "No members yet" if your association has no roster members recorded at all.
  2. Active Courses: the count of courses currently active in your CEC catalog. Its caption reads "In the CEC catalog." This tile carries no support line and no color signal; it is a plain reference count.
  3. Behind on CEC: the count of roster members sitting below the cycle's credit target. Its caption reads "Below the cycle target." This tile is colored: Ember Red when at least one member is behind, Deere Green when nobody is.
  4. Members Earning: the same "members with at least one credit" count that feeds tile 1's support line, shown here as its own headline number. Its caption reads "With credits this cycle." Colored Deere Green when the count is above zero, a neutral muted tone when it is zero.

All four numbers come from the same current-cycle read: your roster size, the credits logged against each roster member this cycle, and your active course catalog. There is no separate "as of" date printed on the tiles themselves, because the read is always current to the moment the page loaded, not a cached rollup from an earlier day.

Tip

Tiles 1 and 4 are related but answer different questions. "CEC Credits" is a sum, the total volume of credits your whole membership has earned this cycle. "Members Earning" is a head count, how many distinct members contributed to that sum. A cycle where a handful of highly active members rack up a large total, while most of the roster hasn't logged a single credit, will show a large tile 1 next to a small tile 4, worth noticing as a sign that participation is concentrated rather than broad.

Behind on CEC

Below the hero row, the Behind on CEC section lists roster members who are below the cycle's CEC target, captioned "Roster members below the cycle target." Each row shows:

  • The member's business name as the row title.
  • A meta line: "No credits yet" for a member who hasn't logged a single credit this cycle, or "N of M credits" (for example "6 of 10 credits") for a member who has earned some credits but is still short of the target.
  • A right-aligned value: the member's raw credit count this cycle, with "of M" printed underneath it as the sub-value, where M is the current target.

Members are sorted with the furthest behind first, zero-credit members at the very top, then rising credit counts, so the members needing the most follow-up surface before you have to scroll. The list shows up to eight members; if more than eight are behind, the rest are not shown on mobile (the web dashboard's equivalent list shows up to twelve).

The current CEC target for the cycle is 10 credits. A member below 10, including a member sitting at zero, counts as behind; a member at 10 or above does not appear in this list at all.

If every roster member has met the target, the section reads: "Every roster member has met the CEC target for this cycle." If your association has no roster members recorded yet, it instead reads: "Member CEC progress will appear as the roster and credits are recorded." These are two different states, one is a fully compliant membership, the other is a program with no data behind it yet, so read the exact wording rather than assuming an empty-looking list always means good news.

Note

Rows on this list are not tappable. There is no per-member detail slider to open from CEC & Education on mobile, the row shows everything it has: name, credit count, and target. If you need to look deeper into a specific member's record, that lives in your association's member-management tools outside this HQ read.

Course catalog

Below Behind on CEC, the Course catalog section, captioned "Active CEC courses," lists your association's active courses. Each row shows:

  • The course title as the row title.
  • A meta line naming the course's category (for example, a category recorded as a raw label is shown in readable Title Case, never as the underlying lowercase token), or "General" when a course has no category recorded.
  • A right-aligned value: the course's CEC credit value, with "CEC" printed underneath it as a fixed sub-label, for example "3" over "CEC" for a three-credit course.

Courses are listed alphabetically by title, not by popularity or credit value, up to eight courses on mobile (again, twelve on the web dashboard). If your association hasn't published any active courses yet, the section reads: "Courses will appear here as the association publishes its CEC catalog."

Only courses currently marked active in your catalog appear here at all; a course your association has retired or hasn't activated yet won't show up in this list or count toward the "Active Courses" hero tile.

What this page does not show

CEC & Education has no narrative "read" card and no bottom disclosure note, unlike some other HQ mobile sections. There is nothing synthesized or written in prose here, just the four hero numbers and the two rows described above. There is also no per-member detail overlay and no way to browse a member's full CEC history or a course's enrollment list from this page; it is a status rollup, not a records browser.

This page does not double as your association's general Certifications compliance surface either. If your network also runs a franchise-style certification-coverage view elsewhere in HQ, that is a separate program (professional trade certifications and their expiration dates) from the CEC credits tracked here (continuing-education hours toward your association's own membership requirement). The two happen to share the same icon in the HQ navigation because both concern credentialing, but they are different data and different pages.

Why members appear by name here

Unlike some other HQ network surfaces, where an operator's identity can be held back behind an anonymized label to protect a franchisee's competitive privacy, the members listed under Behind on CEC appear by their real business name. That is intentional and specific to this page: an association already knows every business on its own membership roster by name, that roster is the association's own membership directory, and continuing-education credits are a record of a member completing your association's own courses, not a read into a member's private operating numbers like margin, jobs, or vendor spend. There is nothing to anonymize here that the association doesn't already maintain itself.

The privacy boundary that governs the rest of your network, that HQ sees only aggregates and never a single operator's underlying business data, still holds everywhere else in the platform. This page is simply outside that boundary's concern, because it never touches business performance data at all.

How to use it

  1. 1Swipe the hero row first. "Behind on CEC" tells you at a glance whether this cycle needs attention; "Members Earning" against your total roster size tells you how broad participation is, not just whether a few members are carrying the total.
  2. 2Scroll to Behind on CEC and start at the top, since the list is already sorted furthest-behind first. A member reading "No credits yet" needs a different kind of outreach than one reading "6 of 10 credits," the first hasn't engaged with the program at all this cycle, the second is partway there.
  3. 3Check Course catalog if a member's shortfall looks like an access problem rather than an engagement one, an empty or thin catalog can explain a widespread shortfall better than any single member's record can.
  4. 4Treat both lists as a starting point for outreach, not the finish line. This page tells you who is behind and what is available; the actual reminder, enrollment nudge, or renewal conversation with a member happens outside the platform.

Heads up

The "Behind on CEC" count includes every member below target, including anyone who hasn't logged a single credit yet. A large number here early in a calendar year is expected, since the cycle resets every January 1 and most members haven't caught up yet; the same count late in the cycle is a stronger signal that a real compliance gap needs closing before the cycle ends.
