What the Referrals page is
Every operator on Verinode gets a permanent, personal referral link. When a peer signs up through it, you both get something for it: they get a discount and a running start with IQ, you get Intelligence Units (IU) you can spend on more IQ work. Verinode is an independent data trust, and the benchmarks you both read only get sharper as more real operators contribute their numbers, so the referral program is built to reward exactly that: bringing in another serious operator, not clicks.
The Referrals page is where you find your link and code, see the two ready-made ways to share it (a personal quote poster and a LinkedIn post), and track who has joined and converted through you. It does not track anonymous clicks on your link, only accounts that actually sign up.
Where to find it
Open Settings from the sidebar, then choose the Referrals row (subtitled "Invite peers, earn IU"). That opens /settings/referrals. From there, the Open the share kit button on the LinkedIn preview drills into its own page at /settings/referrals/share, described below.
Note
If your link and code haven't loaded yet, the page reads: "Your referral link will appear here once your member identity has been provisioned. Refresh in a moment." This is a one-time provisioning step for new accounts. Refresh the page and it will appear.
The reward: what you and your peer earn
Near the top of the page, two panels lay out the give and the get side by side.
Your peer gets:
- +200 IU the day they sign up
- 15% off their first year if they become a Member within 30 days of signing up
- A head start: IQ working their numbers from day one
You get:
- +1,200 IU total (about $480 of platform usage at the standard IU rate), split as 200 IU when your peer signs up and 1,000 IU when they become a Member
- Advocacy points toward your own Member status, on top of the IU
These are the same numbers used everywhere else on the page and on the share kit, they are not marketing rounding, they are the literal reward amounts the platform grants.
Your referral code and link
Below the reward panels, Your Referral Link shows your permanent share link in a monospace box, with a Copy link button beside it (it reads "Copied" for a couple of seconds after you click). Under the link, a second line shows Your code, a short lowercase code on its own.
A few things worth knowing about the code:
- It is generated once, the first time you visit this page or the share kit, and never changes after that. You can reuse the same link and code indefinitely.
- It is 10 characters, lowercase letters and digits only, and deliberately skips characters that are easy to misread off a screen or a printed card (no
0,1,i,l, oro), so it transcribes cleanly if someone reads it out loud or off a poster. - The link itself is your code appended to Verinode's sign-up page. When someone opens it, the code is remembered so their account gets attributed to you the moment they sign up, whether they sign up immediately or come back later.
Text it, email it, drop it in a DM, or hand someone the code directly, whatever gets it in front of the peer you want to invite.
Share it in style: the operator card and the LinkedIn post
Under the link, Share It in Style shows the two ready-made artifacts the platform can build for you, both carrying your referral link. You don't have to design anything, both are live previews you can act on directly.
The operator card
The left preview, Your operator card, shows a square poster built from your own name, company, and (if you've added one) your photo and logo, with a sample line of copy ("We run on our own numbers now.") standing in until you write your own. If your photo is already on file, the caption underneath tells you this is roughly how yours will look with the sample line, swap it for your own words. If you haven't added a photo yet, it tells you to add a photo and a quote and the card builds itself.
Clicking the poster, or the Create your card button beneath it, opens the card composer:
- 1Add a photo. Upload a JPG or PNG under 5 MB. This also sets your profile photo, so it's the same photo everywhere on the platform. A slider lets you drag the photo up or down so your face isn't cropped.
- 2Write your quote, or click Have IQ write one to have IQ draft a short, first-person line for you (grounded in what you told Verinode you're focused on during onboarding, or a confident generic line if you skipped that). Click again for a different draft. There's a 90-character hard cap; the composer tells you when you're past the comfortable two-line length of about 70 characters.
- 3Pick a format, Square or Portrait. Square is the default and reads best on a LinkedIn feed.
- 4Download saves the finished card as a PNG. Share to LinkedIn downloads the same image, copies a short caption to your clipboard, and opens LinkedIn's post composer so you can attach the image and paste the caption in, LinkedIn no longer reliably pre-fills text from a link, so this copy-and-attach step is the honest way to get it there. Neither of these needs any consent checkbox: it's your card, downloaded or posted from your own account.
Note
There's a third button, Submit to Verinode, that's a separate thing: it sends your card to Verinode's own marketing review queue, for possible use on Verinode's channels (LinkedIn, the website, email, paid ads). It only unlocks once you check the consent box, which spells out exactly what you're agreeing to, no payment, not guaranteed to be featured, and removable anytime by emailing privacy@verinode.ai. Download and Share to LinkedIn are yours to use freely and never need this box checked.
You may also see the same card composer offered from a "win" card in the Feed after a strong result posts, it's the identical modal, just opened from a different entry point.
The LinkedIn post and the share kit
The right preview, Your LinkedIn post, shows a mock LinkedIn post card: your initials in an avatar circle, your name, your role and company, a caption with hashtags in LinkedIn blue, and a large image. The caption underneath tells you what it's for: pick a motive, make the words yours, post in one tap, and it names the reward, 100 IU per verified post, for up to 5 posts.
Clicking the preview, or the Open the share kit button, takes you to the full share kit at /settings/referrals/share. There you get:
- An editable caption, pre-filled with a draft first-person "I joined Verinode" line and hashtags. A Try a different opening link cycles through alternate drafts.
- A strip of images to choose from (arrows scroll it), any one of which becomes the post's photo.
- Two reward tiles at the top: Per verified post (100 IU, up to 5 posts, credited once each post goes live) and Per peer who joins (1,000 IU, about $400 of platform usage, per conversion), plus a progress bar showing how many of your 5 rewarded posts you've already used and how much IU you've earned from them.
- If you've connected LinkedIn, a Post to LinkedIn button that posts the image and caption straight to your LinkedIn feed on your behalf, with your referral link folded into the post text automatically. Once LinkedIn confirms the post went live, this is what actually credits the 100 IU, you'll see "Posted to LinkedIn. +100 IU added." (or just "Posted to LinkedIn." once you've already used all 5 rewarded posts).
- If LinkedIn isn't connected, a Connect LinkedIn to post & earn button starts that connection. Below it, Copy post and Download motive let you do it by hand instead, and Share manually instead copies the post text, downloads the image, and opens LinkedIn's own share composer for you to paste and attach.
Heads up
The 100 IU reward is verified-post only. Copying the caption, downloading the image, or opening LinkedIn's composer manually never grants IU by itself, only a post that actually goes live through the connected Post to LinkedIn button is confirmed and credited. This is deliberate: a reward that paid out on a click, rather than a real post, would be trivial to farm.
Further down the share kit, How the rewards work restates the same reward numbers in plain sentences, then repeats your referral link and code with their own copy buttons, and, if you've referred anyone, a one-line summary: how many peers have joined through you and how many are now Members.
Track who you've referred
Back on the main Referrals page, Your Invitations lists everyone who has signed up through your link, newest first. If no one has yet, it reads: "No one has joined through your link yet. Share it with a peer who'd benefit from operator-side intelligence."
Each row shows the invitee's name (or "New Member" if a display name isn't available, which can also happen if that account's data was later erased) and, underneath, either "Joined [date]" or "Became a Member on [date]", plus a status pill on the right:
- Joined (copper): they signed up and are inside their conversion window. When the countdown is running, the pill adds how many days are left, for example "Joined · 12d left."
- Member (green): they became a paying Member. This is what triggers your 1,000 IU conversion reward.
- Expired (gray): their conversion window closed without them becoming a Member. This referral no longer earns the conversion reward, though the 200 IU signup reward from step one already posted regardless.
Putting it together
- 1Copy your link (or hand someone your code) from Your Referral Link.
- 2Send it to a peer you'd actually vouch for, in a text, an email, or a post.
- 3When they sign up, a row appears in Your Invitations as Joined, and 200 IU lands for each of you.
- 4If they become a Member within 30 days, the row flips to Member and 1,000 IU lands for you, plus their 15% first-year discount locks in.
- 5Along the way, use the operator card and the share kit to make the invitation something worth sharing rather than a bare link, both fold your referral link in automatically.
Best-practice example
Say you know an operator in a neighboring market who's sharp but flying blind on where their numbers actually stand. Open the share kit, let IQ draft the caption, pick the motive that fits your brand, and post it, once LinkedIn confirms it's live, 100 IU lands. Your peer clicks through, signs up, and you both pick up 200 IU immediately; the same invitation now sits in Your Invitations as Joined with a countdown. If they upgrade to a Member inside that window, the row flips to Member, you collect the 1,000 IU conversion reward, and they keep 15% off their first year, all from one link you sent once.
